Southern Pacific 3105
Southern Pacific 3105 – This baggage-dormitory car was built by the Budd Company in 1950 for the Southern Pacific Railroad’s Sunset Limited. The heated 30-foot-long baggage section provides an open floor area for dancing and receptions. Shelving holds luggage like skis, gold clubs, displays, and trade show exhibits. Three rooms in the car can be used for breakout groups and small meetings, or secure storage, or a crew lounge area. The 3105 has another private room with separate shower, in addition to a general shower and changing room. 3105 will carry over 20 day passengers and 14 overnight.
Amtrak-compatible, the 3105 is frequently operated
with other private cars to provide flexible mission support.
